Travel Grant
We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Indooroopilly State High School P & C Association Travel Grant — an initiative designed to open doors for students who might otherwise not have the opportunity to experience the benefits of travel and cultural exchange.
At Indooroopilly State High School, our community is made up of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and stories. That diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Next to that, we also recognise that not every student has the same opportunities — and we would like to change that.
The Travel Grant was created with one clear goal: to remove financial barriers so students who might otherwise miss out have the chance to step outside the classroom and experience the world. Many of us have been fortunate enough to travel for work, attend a conference, or immerse ourselves in a new culture. That kind of experience shapes curious, compassionate, and globally aware individuals — and our students deserve the same. This grant exists to make that first step possible for those who need a little support to take it.
How the Travel Grant Works
The Travel Grant will provide financial assistance to eligible students for approved international travel for cultural immersion and educational travel opportunities. The aim is to raise approximately $10,000 to pay for the costs of an offshore trip for one student. Then an invitation would be issued for applications. Applications will be reviewed by a dedicated committee, with recipients selected based on need, merit, and the potential impact of their proposed experience. The Travel Grant Rules approved by the P&C Membership govern the selection process. We are committed to being open and transparent about how the Travel Grant fund is managed — and updates will be posted on the P&C website.

The success of this fund depends on the generosity of our community. We warmly invite alumni, families, local businesses, and friends of the school to consider donating — no amount is too small, and every single dollar makes a real difference to a young person's life. Please note that any donation to the Travel Grant is not tax deductible.
