2026 UN Night - A Celebration of Culture & Connection
On 19 June 2026, we are bringing our community together for UN Night - an outdoor evening of food, music, activities and cultural celebration. Building on the energy of the students’ UN Day, from 3pm to 8pm, this event will open the gates to families, alumni and the wider community, inviting everyone to reconnect with the school and celebrate the diversity that makes Indro High so special.
Communities that come together are stronger together. If the 2026 event is a success, there's every reason to make this into an annual tradition, where past members of our school community are always welcomed back to reconnect at UN Night.
UN Day Overview
With live music and cultural performances on the big outdoor stage, lots of activities, International Food Stalls and food trucks too, UN Day is a massive event. From 1pm to 3pm on the school oval, it is a students & staff only event. And then when the school bell rings at 3pm, we open the gates to welcome alumni, families and the whole community in to enjoy the celebrations. To get your student a UN Day Passport, and to see what activities they can get access to, details are here.
Call‑Out for Volunteers
We’re building something truly special for UN Night — and we need the passion, creativity and cultural knowledge of our Indro community to bring it to life. With 92 cultures represented at our school, this is our moment to showcase who we are. To make it happen, we need your help.
Parents, Carers & Guardians - we need stall supervisors at the event - please sign-up to a shift or two on our volunteer roster (these roles are for adults not students) for the event. Every shift needs filling. https://volunteersignup.org/DME7E
Students - we have multiple volunteer spots available in the week of UN Night. Students can sign up here: https://volunteersignup.org/QF7T7
Can you tow a trailer? We can save $1,000+ in delivery fees if we can get your help to tow a Light Tower from Mega Hire Acadia Ridge to the School Oval on Friday Morning. And hopefully you can tow it back again Saturday Morning. Can you help? Email: president@ishspandc.org.au
Do you have Henna Art skills? If you can volunteer an hour or two of your time to doing Henna Art at the event, we want to hear from you! Can you help? Email: president@ishspandc.org.au
Getting a UN Day Passport for your Indro High Student

It’s the easiest way to make sure you actually get the food you want and skip the long queues.

Not available after Wed 17 June.
Passports include:
- 2 Food Stall servings (small portions so you can try different cuisines)

Collecting Your Passport
Your Connect teacher will hand it out on Friday 19 June. If a student misses Connect, collect it from The Hub from 1pm (bring Student ID).
What Food Can I Get With My Passport?
You get 2 food items from the International Food Stall. Feedback from prior years is that students wanted smaller food sizes at cheaper prices, so that they could try more types of food. This year, we have smaller food serves at the International Food Stalls and a huge variety.
Current activity stalls already confirmed: Origami Craft, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Fan Painting, Lantern Making, Henna, Photobooth, Karaoke, Rock Climbing, Basketball Shoot‑Out, World Trivia, Global Games.
Seeking the following Donations
Food is one of the most powerful ways to share culture, and we want UN Night to be bursting with affordable, authentic, diverse flavours.
1). Are you able to donate a gift voucher for Indooroopilly Shopping Centre? Coles? Woolworths? JB HiFi? Timezone? Starbucks? Rebel Sport? Kmart? Event Cinemas? These will be used in our prize box and issued on the night to Passport holders through the hourly prize draw. If you can help in this way, please email: president@ishspandc.org.au
2). Are you able to donate mini chocolates & lollies?
Teens love snacks - and we have a lot of teen volunteers who we would like to thank for helping make UN Day a success. Every teen volunteer gets a Certification of Appreciation for their resume, and we'd love to give them a Lucky Dip into a sweets box. If you can donate a bag or two of wrapped mini chocolates or candies for the lucky dip, please drop them to the P&C collection box at 102 Ward Street, Indooroopilly (in front of the garage). There's security cameras...your donations will be safe!
Community Cookbook
We're putting together an ISHS P&C Community Cookbook as part of the UN Day celebrations. We need your recipes! All contributions due by Friday 15 May 2026. Click here for more information on how to contribute a recipe.
